Outrage Vs Dragon Claw (2024)

i use outrage because i will have to switch anyway with what new pokemon is out on the field from a free switch.

As stated, it really depends. The only three pokemon i ever see that would use either are mence, dnite, and haxorus, which makes it difficult to say because mence loves the power of outrage, dnite likes being able to change moves, and haxorus is either going to kill you or not so it really doesnt matter. With that being said, i would say dragon claw just because you dont see mence all that often, and i think haxorus without a SD boost shouldnt be too convinced on his Outrage killing everything...

I prefer the raw power of outrage. But of course i think to use it or not in early game. In late game it's a bit safer.

No no, it depends on what Pokemon your opponent has left. If they've got quite a few of the popular Steels (such as Magenzone, Ferrothorn and Heatran), Dragon Claw would definitely be the safer option, to avoid being beaten by a Steel without missing out on anything else. But if you've already taken care of their Steels, Outrage away!

outrage cause I don't use many non-sweeping dragon types

On my team, my team eliminates steels, then my dnite DDs and spams lum berry outrage.

I prefer to use Dragon Claw over Outrage (even if it does have more power). If I can, I use Dual Chop

Dual Chop, becaues imo breaking subs beats out Claw's surefire Acc. and the Outrage Lock.

I would pick Outrage. It just depends on if you know what you're doing. In the end, your Pokemon becomes confused after Outrage. Let it hold a Berry to cure it's Confusion.

I choose outrage because it is almost 2 times as powerful as dragon claw and. You can always play it safe with lum berry

Outrage, all the way. Just hope that the confusion doesn't hurt you, that's what i do.

Oh yeah I forgot about dualchop which is very good but I still choose outrage

Battle Frontier/Battle Subway: Dragon Claw because of the huge amount of hax the AI gets.
Competitive: Outrage. Power over accuracy every time. (Well except for OHKO moves, Dynamicpunch and Zap Cannon.)

Dragon Claw is better for DD Dragons. Outrage usually prompts a switch-in with a steel-type, which would make you want to switch out or do very little against them. But if you did that, you would lose the DD boost when you switched back in. Plus, the confusion would already make switching out the best idea, so Dragon Claw is the way to go.

I generally prefer the power of outrage over dragon claw on all pokemon that use them aside from Dragonite, as Dragonite works better with dragon claw.

Out Rage is more prefered over dragon claw but im going to side with you on this it all depends on the pokemon
